The beautiful Georgian city of Bath was home to many 'topless' Bristol VRs in 2004.

Companies such as First, The Bath Bus Company, City Sightseeing, City Tours and Regency Travel all operated a number of ECW bodied Bristol VRs from former National Bus Company operators from all over the UK.

On a hot, sunny mid summer day in July 2004 our cameras made a visit to Bath to capture these buses in action.

Not only the VRs are filmed, but there are ECW Leyland Atlanteans of Regency Travel as well as former London Metrobuses, Park Royal Atlanteans and also Olympians, both closed top and covered ones operating for First Somerset & Avon.

Our filming starts at the Grand Parade in Bath with plenty of action from all of the operators.

We then take a ride on a Series II Bristol VR formerly from the City of Oxford fleet, NUD 106L operating for 'City Tours', to Royal Avenue, where we pause for more filming.

Leaving Royal Avenue on board former Southdown UWV 619S we head to Great Pulteney Street to film the buses passing there.

With more filming in various points in the city centre, we head back to Grand Parade to continue recording the busy scene.

Our final scene is at the old Bath bus station, which has since been demolished to make way for a brand new one.

So take your seats and enjoy the Bristol VRs - 'Topless in Bath'.
