Filmed on location in North Wales and Borders from 2005 to 2008
Section 1: Crewe – Chester
While at Crewe a number of Class 57 movements are seen while awaiting the service to arrive from Euston. We watch a couple of services coupling before joining a departure for Chester.
Section 2: Chester – Llandudno Junction
After Chester we journey along the coast seeing the Euston service stop at Rhyl and Colwyn Bay before arrival at Llandudno Junction.
Section 3: Llandudno Junction - Holyhead
After Llandudno Junction we continue our journey passing Conwy before seeing an up and down Euston service at Bangor. We cross Menai Bridge on the service from Manchester and on arrival at Holyhead we see the Euston service run round.
Section 4: Holyhead - Chester
The Manchester service departs after the run round. We now see the Manchester service at Llandudno Junction, Colwyn Bay, Rhyl and Flint before arrival at Chester. At Chester the Euston service departs.
Section 5: Chester – Manchester Piccadilly
After Chester we see the Class 57 at Warrington Bank Quay, Earlstown, Newton-le-Willows and Manchester Oxford Road before the journey ends at Manchester Piccadilly.
Additional Section: Copmanthorpe
On Tuesday 26 September 2006, 57313 was sent to recover 221136 which had been derailed the previous evening. There was plenty of media attention as the rescued train eventually departs. Although not North Wales this happened very close to Anbrico Felixjaz HQ.
