The Second Deltic Age began in the autumn of 1996 with D9000's main line test runs. Since then, four more Deltics have stretched their legs on main line track during a fascinating 17 year period. Deltics Remastered is the story of that unique chapter in rail preservation.

Highlights include: D9000 test runs; the early charter trains, including the first run with the VSOE Pullmans; a return to service trains for Virgin, and the very first solo working; the summer Saturday Ramsgates and service trains for Anglia; 55019 on driver training and its first tour alongside D9009; both 9 & 19 on Regency Railcruises and DPS charters; 9016 on its ill-fated test run; 55019 on ‘Northern Belle’ shakedown runs and later passenger trips; D9000 on Fragonset tours; D9009 on test with ECS; 9016 on test again and then working charters; D9000 on the ‘Anniversary Scotsman’; D9009 & 55019 top & tailing two VDA vans; 55019 towing a fine selection of EE traction, including the prototype DELTIC; D9016 goes green; a section devoted to the DPS’s ambitious five day ‘Freedom of Scotland' tour, with stunning footage from all over the Highlands; the return of 55022, its test runs and subsequent tours, plus the Alcan workings at Blyth and at County March; 22 hauling 2, 9 & 19 at Beighton; D9009 returns after a break of nearly eight years; 55002 becomes the latest main line-registered Deltic; 55022 on Scottish  EMU moves in 2013.
