Graz is the 2nd largest city in Austria after Vienna, public transport is operated by Graz Linien and at the time of filming in September 2025 there were 6 tram routes. A 2nd city crossing opened in November 2025, 2 new routes were introduced to make use of this new facility. The tram fleet in September 2025 consisted of trams built by Simmering-Graz-Pauker (SGP, now part of Siemens Mobility) to Duewag design in 1978 and 1986/7, Bombardier Cityrunner trams built in 2000/1, and Stadler Variobahn trams built in 2009-2015. 15 Alstom Flexity trams are on order, delivery started in October 2025.

Graz Tramway Museum is situated at the end of line 1 at Mariatrost, the museum building was originally the depot of the Kleinbahn Graz - Mariatrost. This metre gauge line was converted to standard gauge in 1941 when it became part of the Graz city tramway system. Most of the trams in the collection ran in Graz and were built locally by Graz Waggon und Maschinenfabrik AG, absorbed into the SGP in 1941. Some of the trams in the museum are operational and can be seen on the city network on private hires.

The Lendcanal Tramway is at the Klagenfurt Transport and Cinema Museum. The museum has a collection of trams and a short running line, in the summer the museum operates a battery electric locomotive with ex-Innsbruck steam, later electric, tram trailers.

The Historama Museum of Technology and Transport is in Ferlach. A steam tram from the museum operates on the Rosental Valley line from Ferlach to Weizeldorf, the museum has a large collection of trams plus other transport exhibits.

Mariazell Tramway Museum operates both steam and electric trams from its headquarters at Mariazell station. The line from Mariazell station to Erlaufsee was constructed In 1974 - 1985, the line from the station towards Mariazell town was constructed as far as Mariazell Promenadenweg in 2012. The electric tram depot has cars from Vienna, St. Pölten, the Pressburgbahn (the former interurban line from Vienna to Bratislava/Pressburg) amongst others.

The Vienna - Baden Interurban Tramway, the Wiener Lokalbahnen (WLB). This line is owned by Wiener Stadtwerke GmbH, as is Wiener Linien, the operator of public transport in Vienna. The line runs from Vienna Opera (Wien Oper) to Baden, Josephplatz, a distance of 27km, the route runs on 4.2km of Wiener Linien tracks, including the tram tunnel, before using WLB tracks for the rest of the journey to Baden. 34 Alstom Flexity 2 trams were delivered in 2021 - 2025 and these trams now provide most of the service, some of the Bombardier TW400 trams built in 2000 - 2010 can still be seen in service. This chapter also includes video of the SGP trams built in 1979 - 1993, filmed in 2012 and now all withdrawn.
