The Blackpool tramway was one of the first electric tramways in the world, opening in 1885, celebrating its' 130th anniversary in 2015. The tramway was upgraded in 2012 and services are now provided by 16 Bombardier Flexity 2 light rail vehicles. These modern trams are supplemented during the summer and autumn by the operation of heritage and illuminated trams on the heritage and illuminations tours. Quite a lot of trams from the pre-2012 fleet have been retained and are used on these services, these are operated from the Rigby Road depot, the Flexity trams operating from the modern depot at Starr Gate.

This video features trams in service on the whole of the line from Starr Gate to Fleetwood and includes both trams from the heritage fleet and the Bombardier Flexity 2 trams, filmed during daylight hours and and at night during the illuminations period.
