This DVD features various bus events and running days that took place in the Spring of 2023.These events are very important, providing opportunities for enthusiasts and the general public to see and ride on some of the many preserved buses in the UK. Many different buses, both old and new can be seen at these events.
High Wycombe Classic Bus Running Day - 2nd April 2023
This event was organised by the Amersham & District Motorbus Society and featured former London Transport country area buses plus a couple of Arriva heritage buses running on routes mainly radiating from High Wycombe bus station. The buses ran on around 20 former London Transport country area routes which included High Wycombe town services as well as longer distance routes.
London Bus Museum Spring Gathering - 16 April 2023
This event at the Museum site at Brooklands, Weybridge, Surrey featured a large number of buses both heritage and modern. The main event was the launch of an appeal for funds towards the restoration of pre-war Greenline coach T375, an AEC Regal dating from 1931, although the Weymann body dates from 1935. Heritage and modern buses were also running on local route 462 and on bus tours from the museum.
Stagecoach London Romford Garage Open Day - 22nd April 2023
This event was held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the opening of the garage by London Transport in 1953. There was a display of buses inside the garage and various buses were operating on route 247 between Romford Station and Collier Row.
Friends of King Alfred Buses (FoKAB) Running Day - 1st May 2023
Winchester featured many of the FoKAB fleet of ex-King Alfred buses and also the launch of the recently acquired 1929 Leyland Lion, RU8678. There were also many visiting buses running on former King Alfred routes in and around Winchester.
Amberley Museum, West Sussex, Spring Bus Show - 30th April 2023
This museum is well known for it's collection of pre-war Southdown buses all of which are rare survivors. The Spring Bus Show featured five of these vehicles in service in the museum grounds. They were joined by various preserved buses from other operators including Brighton Hove & District and Southampton Corporation.
Subtitle, no commentary, enjoy the sights and sounds of buses of yesterday and today.
