Divided into four episodes focusing on Speed, Cities, Industry and Leisure, this DVD features Flying Scotsman, Mallard, Stephenson’s Rocket, the London Underground, Pullman Trains and the Great Western Railway among many iconic trains and railways that changed history. Beginning with Flying Scotsman, which is still running today, owned by the National Railway Museum, the series discusses the trains that shrank distance and created a global economy. Each episode features iconic trains and describes their impact on history, combining archive footage and interviews with leading actors, directors and historians.
