"The Mid Hants" or "Watercress" Railway as its more popularly known runs for 10 miles from Alresford to Alton through typical Hampshire rolling downland. It has a superb collection of locomotives most of which are types you would have seen on the line in BR days.
This film shows both the home fleet plus a wide variety of guest engines from Beattie Well and Met tanks to Britannia and Tornado over the period 2009-12. The stations are immaculately restored adding to the ambiance of the heyday of steam and giving the overall effect of experiencing the Southern Region of British Railways in its prime.
There is no commentary but an information sheet is provided to guide you through so you enjoy this film just as if you were there with all its sights and sounds.
