Our Digitally Remastered Series are bigger, better and in stunning HD for the very first time! These are the original programmes which have been put through the upscale and remastering treatment with improvements to audio, colour balance, contrast and most of all - picture quality. Some of the trains featured here were never filmed in HD or in broadcast quality. Now, for the first time - you can enjoy just that!

Part 1 of a two part series about steam in Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Part 1 looks at six lines in Holland starting with The Goes - Borsele line in Zeeland with Sl00 0-6-0 tank No 4389 built by Davenport in the USA.

The Veluwsche steam train has a large number of German locomotives including Class 23s, Class 50s and Class 52s. Operational is 50-307 on this attractive line between Dieren and Apeldoorn.

The Rotterdam Tramway line features preserved carriages and locomotives from this once extensive tramway system serving the islands south and west of Rotterdam. Operational is 0-4-0 tank No. 50.

The railway Hoorn to Medemblick is another tramway style operation north of Amsterdam with an attractive range of steam locomotives running along the dykes through farm land.

The Narrow Gauge museum at Katwijk Leiden has a wide range of preserved industrial locomotives on display with a number operational on a 70cm gauge line running around Lake Valkenburg. Operational is 0-6-0 T No 8 by Henschel. The South Limburg Railway's annual steam festival features four visiting locomotives working an intensive timetable.
