Description

This DVD takes a nostalgic look at the Blackpool system from days gone by, starting in 1958/1959 with the Prototype Twin car 276+275.

Included from this era are the Illuminated Gondola and Progress cars, Illuminated Standard cars 158 & 159 and many Railcoaches and Balloons in long gone liveries.

The second section covers the 1962/1963 period with footage from the last day on the Marton route, farewell tours, Marton Vambacs and Standards plus the last day of the North Station route with Brush cars and the famous trolley reverser.

In addition, there are Coronation cars in all cream livery, the first Trailer car T1, the Illuminated Paddle Steamer and many more Railcoaches and Balloons.

The third section is from the Spring of 1969 and features Coronation cars in half green and half cream including 'Salvage Squad' car 641 plus lengthened Railcoach 618 and Balloon cars.

The final section is from the early 1980s and shows the red and cream OMO cars and many more Balloons and Railcoaches in liveries from that period.

Archive Video 3 covers more than two decades of change for the Blackpool trams and is a superb souvenir of days gone by.
