Filmed on location on the South Western from 1975 to 2003.
Sections 1-3: Waterloo – Basingstoke – Salisbury – Feniton
A couple of services depart Waterloo. We then see non-passenger activity at Clapham Junction. Next we visit Surbiton, Woking, Brookwood, Fleet and Hook. Basingstoke features many movements. Worting Junction, Overton, Whitchurch and Andover are seen. At Salisbury we see many 33s. Further west we visit Tisbury Loop, Honiton and Feniton.
Section 4-6: Weymouth Quay Branch/Westbury
Section 4: Weymouth Quay Branch (1975 silent cine film with added sound).
First we see the twice weekly tanks being shunted at Weymouth Quay. Next we follow the boat train along the branch then a departure for Bournemouth.
Section 5: Features the Hertfordshire Railtours trips on a rainy April 1993 day.
Section 6: A journey is made on the Bristol service and we visit Dorchester West, Yeovil Pen Mill, Frome and Westbury.
