Two of Britain's smaller scale railways are the 12 and a quarter inch gauge Fairbourne & Barmouth Railway and the 15" gauge Romney Hythe & Dymchurch.

Both run along the coast but are very different in character.

One features half size replicas of famous narrow gauge engines, the other has the feel of a main line in miniature with quarter scale replicas of standard gauge locomotives with a double track main line.

A run up the line at Fairbourne with locomotive half size B Class replica 'Sherpa' from the footplate is a feature of part one.

In part two the Spring Gala is covered at New Romney including parallel running.

This film covers the operational locomotives and all the lines.
