Filmed on location from 1986 to 1989.

Section 1: Birmingham - Reading
50039 runs around at Birmingham New St, then we join 035 at Leamington Spa. 026 departs Banbury. Oxford sees 035 and 004 departures. At Radley 030, 026 and 043 pass. At Didcot we join 031 and at Reading 26 departs.

Section 2: Reading - Paddington
At Reading 50005 departs while 016 arrives. The Woolley and Sonning areas feature a number of up services passing. At Twyford 040, 032, 034, 023 and 037 pass while at Taplow 030, 024 and 035 pass. Paddington sees 026, 031, 037 and 023 by day and 038, 025, 046 and 050 by night.

Section 3: Old Oak Common Depot
A couple of visits in late 1988 feature: 50041, 038, 013, 031, 024, 025, 034, 050, 023, 040, 026, 033, 035, 036, 038, 030 and 019. Also 50017 activities on the turntable!

Section 4: Paddington (High Wycombe)
Banbury At Paddington we see 50040, 041, 036 and 046. We then join 036 for Banbury passing through South and West Ruislip, Gerrards Cross before stopping at High Wycombe. Another stop at Bicester North for single line, then arrive Banbury.

Section 5: Paddington - Oxford
In August 1986 we join 47609 + 50004 at Paddington on an Oxford service. After departure the train is checked at Didcot. On arrival at Oxford 47609 comes off and 50004 takes the empties forward.

Section 6: Oxford - Hereford
We now join 50030 on a Paddington – Hereford service. At Evesham we await a 150 off the single line. Next a stop at Worcester Shrub Hill before continuing to Foregate Street.  By the time Hereford is reached it is dark.
