Description

Steam-hauled train services were once a common sight on the UK mainline. Services were hauled around the UK and operated by the 'Big 4' operating companies before nationalisation by British Rail in 1948.

With hundreds of steam-hauled charter services running each year around the UK, once destined for the scrap yard, many steam engines have been beautifully restored to mainline standards. Since mainline steam ended in 1968, the mainline steam industry has grown and grown into a multi-million pound industry. Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of many different steam engines from the past 10 years hauling passenger services across the country.

Featuring over five hours of footage, split across four discs, re-live the mainline steam movement from the past decade. Many popular locations are included throughout the DVD including Shap, the Settle & Carlisle Railway, Copy Pit, Miles Platting, Cambrian Coast, West Highland Extension, East Coast Mainline, plus many others too.
