This is a film of two halves. The first shows the electric railway between Ryde and Shanklin filmed 2008-2014 and its 1938 former London tube stock. Initially we see trains still in the “dinosaur” livery then in the approximate “historic” LT livery.
Then we cover the Isle of Wight Steam Railway between Smallbrook Junction and Wootton in 2010 and 2013. The steam railway has a magnificent collection of locos and rolling stock mostly with a connection to the Islands railways. The collection of passenger coaches in particular have been restored and maintained to an impeccable level which are an absolute joy to see and ride in.
There is no commentary but an information sheet guides you through.
