With the exception of early accident victim 66521, this DVD shows the entire fleet of Freightliner 66/5s in action at a time when they all carried their original liveries and original number.
The first Class 66/5s Co-Co diesels were delivered brand new in 1999 and the order continued until 2008 when 66599 was built completing the order. Built by General Motors in Ontario Canada, they were powered by 3,200hp two-stroke diesel engines driving axle hung traction motors. At 127 tons these Freightliner giants had a maximum speed of 75mph. Driving wheels were 3ft 8ins diameter.
