The recent revival in loco-hauled passenger trains reached new heights in 2015 with the introduction of the brand new Class 68s and the return of an old favourite, the Class 37s. To celebrate this remarkable turnaround, the Diesel Hauled Passenger Trains series is back with a brand new release - The Story of 2015.
Starting with Class 37s in Cumbria, various locos are featured on this scenic railway, firstly in top and tail mode and then with DBSO coaches. See the likes of 37401 skirting the Irish Sea in beautiful seascapes and sunny weather.
DRS Class 68s in their silver Chiltern livery took over the loco-hauled services out of Marylebone this year. Footage includes both Class 67s and 68s working side by side and plenty of action from the new locos.
In Wales the Class 67 hauled trains are featured including the long-standing Holyhead-Cardiff service and the new Manchester-Holyhead set.
Plus: Regular loco-hauled trains returned to East Anglia in 2015 with a short top and tail Class 37 hauled set working off Norwich; DRS Class 68s took over Fife Circle workings with two locos painted in the Scotrail livery, various 57s and 67s on the sleeper services out of Paddington and in Scotland and 55022 on the Royal Scotsman.
Bonus Footage: Electric hauled sleeper trains with 86101, 87002 and various Class 90s and 92s on the Caledonian sleepers.
