Cab Ride: Leicester - Worcester - Long Marston via Nuneaton, Bromsgrove and Droitwich
Two pairs of Class 20s were hired by the Rail Operation Group in March 2020 and the first working for the orange liveried 20311+20315 was an epic 16-hour day taking a rake of Mk III coaches from Long Marston to Newport Docks.
Filmed on 17th March, before the UK-wide lockdown, the first part of the journey is featured on this programme; from Leicester to Long Marston with the barrier coaches and then Long Marston to Worcester Shrub Hill with the Mk III stock.
Split into four sections, there are highlights from Leicester to Bromsgrove; the full journey from Bromsgrove to Worcester - passing the famous lower quadrant semaphore signals; then highlights to Long Marston; then the full journey, Long Marston back to Worcester running along the single line to Honeybourne, on to the Cotswold line, via Evesham and the newly opened Worcestershire Parkway Station.
Filmed with the full permission of ROG, there is part-narration, maps and on-screen captions and a thrash cam is provided in the back cab.
