Number three in the Dying Embers series, looking back at the decline of main line steam across Europe, focuses on West Germany in the period 1972 - 1975.

Working its way from the South East to the North West, the programme features numerous locations, including Hof, the legendary 1 in 40 Schiefe Ebene, Wurzburg, Lauda, Crailsheim, Freudenstadt, Rottweil, Ehrang, Duisburg, Hamm, Rheine and Emden - a truly nostalgic and unforgettable journey charting the final years of West German steam.
