This DVD features various bus events and running days that took place in the summer of 2023. These events are very important, providing opportunities for enthusiasts and the general public to see and ride on some of the many preserved buses in the UK. Many different buses, both old and new can be seen at these events.
Harlow Classic Bus Running Day - 25th May 2023
This event was organised by the Amersham & District Motorbus Society and featured former London Transport country area buses running on routes in the Harlow area. Harlow bus garage celebrated it's 60th anniversary this year having been opened by London Transport on the 22nd May 1963 when Harlow was a developing 'New' Town. Today Arriva own the garage which was used as the starting point for the bus services, most of which also called at the bus station.
London Bus Route 65/71 Running Day - 11th June 2023
This event was organised by the London Bus Museum and featured many former London buses on the routes between Leatherhead and Kingston (71) and Kingston and Ealing (65).
Dennis Day at the Rural Life Museum, Tilford, Surrey - 17th June 2023
This event was all about vehicles manufactured by the Dennis company, now part of the Alexander-Dennis group. Many vehicles were on display including buses and fire engines, most of which were manufactured locally in Guildford. The Old Kiln Light Railway was also in action.
London Bus Museum Summer Festival - 25th June 2023
This event celebrated the 40th anniversary of Metrobus, now part of the Go-Ahead group, with a display of former and current Metrobus buses including on of the new Wrightbus GB Kite hydrogen fuel cell buses destined for the Crawley Fastway services.
Eastbourne Classic Bus Running Day 2nd July 2023
This event returned after a four year absence with services running to various towns in East Sussex from Eastbourne railway station. Buses from the former Eastbourne Corporation fleet took part as well as buses from Maidstone & District, Southdown and Brighton Corporation.
Low-ish Floor Running Day - 16th July 2023
This event was organised by the North London Collection and featured buses from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, running on two routes between Godstone and East Grinstead.
Tinkers Park Bus Rally, Hadlow - 6th August 2023
This venue is known for its collection of traction engines and narrow gauge railway. This year the held a bus rally which attracted a good number of preserved buses, many of which were running on local routes in the area. Buses from Southdown, Brighton, Maidstone & District and London Transport were in attendance.
Subtitles, no commentary, enjoy the sights and sounds of buses of yesterday and today.
