Zap! features today’s DC EMUs operating in London and the South East. All classes and sub-classes are featured, from the lineside, on-board and from the air! An informative commentary explains the operations of the various companies and the EMUs. Whilst the units run on Britain’s busiest lines providing transport for millions of commuters each year, they also cover less crowded branch lines in areas away from the Capital.

We begin with South West Trains which operates both long distance services to places like Weymouth as well as traditional commuter trains in London’s south west suburbs. They utilise classes 444, 450, 455, 456 and 458s.

London Overground is next with their inner London services operated by their high capacity class 378s.
Services to the south of London and to the Sussex coast are operated by Southern, they also operate the Gatwick Express. Their operations are carried out by classes 313, 377s, 455s and 442s on the ‘Gatwicks’.

Thameslink operate much the same route as Southern but  also head north of the Thames onto Bedford. They use 319s, 377s and have just started taking delivery of 387s.

We round-off with South Eastern and their services along the Medway corridor to Kent. Classes 465, 466, 375, 376 and 395s are used on their trains.
