AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER. THIS TITLE IS DUE FOR RELEASE MID-AUGUST 2020.
To say that 2020 has been like no other year would be something of an understatement. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected everyone and everything - including the later-than planned release of our Suffolk Liner programme. As Coronavirus swept across Britain, the railway’s passenger and freight operators were all affected in one way or another. Some railway operations – such as the introduction of new trains and the subsequent removal of older rolling stock - continued uninterrupted, while a downturn in freight traffic saw a number of locos placed into temporary store. We know that many of our customers have wondered – like us – if the next Traction programme would be cancelled. We are now able to confirm that not only will there be two Traction programmes this year but Part 1 will cover the first six months of the year as usual.
Here are just a few of the items you can expect to see in the programme… the DRS Class 20 farewell tour, DCR’s 60055 hauling a rake of redundant Greater Anglia Mark 3s from Norwich to Eastleigh, ‘top & tail’ DB Class 66s on the West Country weedkilling train, 37218 solo on the Tees Dock-Daventry ‘Tesco Express’, 56103 hauling a rake of Arriva Trains Mark 2’s from Cardiff to Long Marston, 50007+50049 on hire to GBRf to move three former Caledonian sleeper Mark 3s from Wembley to Laira, Pullman-liveried duo 67021+67024 hauling a rake of new Mendip Rail Touax box wagons from Dollands Moor to Wembley, 59206 receives a re-paint into Freightliner’s new G&W livery, 90035 & 91125 on the Midland Main Line with the ROG electrification test train, 70803 working the first Aberdeen to Spalding tanks, GBRf’s 66745 hauling the first Derby-built Class 710 unit to South Western Railway, 56103 with a monster rake of 35 brand new box wagons, DCR’s 60046 hauling the unique 89001 from Barrow Hill to Toton, Grand Central Class 90s on test runs, the mass clear-out of former GWR Mark 3s and stored Class 442 units from Ely Papworth to Newport and Eastleigh, LSL’s 47712 returns to the main line in retro Scotrail livery, the end of Greater Anglia Class 90s as the locos transfer to Freightliner and Locomotive Services, DCR’s 60029 on its inaugural test run on the Toton-Boston steel, 37884 hauling three former East Midlands Trains HST power cars from Long Marston to Leicester, 20007+20205 on hire to Loram shifting a Milling Machine from Romford to Derby, LSL’s 87002 undertaking driver training runs for its new owner, 31128 on a departmental working from Burton to Toton, Freightliner’s 47830 hauling a TPE Nova 3 set from Longtown to Crewe, the first Class 70 to reach Whitby, GBRf Class 47s on a variety of EMU moves, ROG Greater Anglia ‘Thunderbird’ duties with Class 37s and 47s rescuing brand new Stadler units…and NHS Thursday evening horns at Eastleigh and Peak Forest.
