Description

Filmed on location from 1986 to 2006.

Sections 1 to 4: The North Woolwich to Richmond route featuring all stations.
At Custom House and Canning Town 313s run parallel to DLR services. At Stratford through services and terminators are seen. From Hackney Wick the route has the addition of overhead power. In Dalston Kingsland station there is a Pan Down sign to advise a return to third rail. At Highbury the short lived Norwich/Basingstoke service departs. At Camden Road a return to the OHL. Gospel Oak sees a test train and the Barking 117 depart. Willesden Junction sees a Class 416 on the route. Acton Central is a return to third rail and then at Gunnersbury a fourth rail as we join District line services. After a rainy Kew Gardens the North London line terminates at Richmond. A Class 416 departs.

Section 5: Euston to Watford Junction.
The DC lines run parallel to the West Coast route. Between Queens Park and Harrow & Wealdstone the lines are shared with the Bakerloo line which starts at Elephant & Castle. This film advises the “BR” head codes issued to the tube services. At Bushey the line loops away to Watford High Street before terminating at Watford Junction.

Section 6: Clapham Junction to Willesden Junction.
At Kensington Olympia we see the new 319 service from Rugby. West Brompton sees a Eurostar and a new 377. Willesden Junction is visited for the third and final time.
