This cab ride is the first part of an epic journey for ROG operated 37800, heading from Leicester to Glasgow Works for an EMU move. Running light engine via Nuneaton and the West Coast Mainline, this is perhaps not the most exciting and varied route but this is a Class 37 - in the year 2018 - running a staggering 219 miles on a gorgeous sunny autumn day in September!
With a 'thrash' cam recording the loco, the four-hour journey is shown in its entirety. Highlights include passing over the freight-only north chord at Nuneaton, using the former mail platform at Stafford, running into bay platform 8 at Crewe for a pathing stop and passing a great selection of passenger and freight trains as we head north.
This is a rare opportunity to enjoy a Class 37 along a very busy stretch of modern railway. If you like 37s and you like thrash - AND, you want to see the WCML from the cab - passing the principal stations of Nuneaton, Tamworth, Stafford, Crewe, Warrington, Wigan, Preston, Lancaster and Oxenholme, then the 1 in 75 climb up Shap and finally into the centre roads at Carlisle - then this cab ride is for you!
