When steam hauled trains returned to the southern heartland after a break of 15 years, they understandably became a major attraction for rail enthusiasts - particularly for those who had fond memories of the times when steam reigned supreme and journeys were as exciting as the time spent at the final destination.
Recognising the emotion and nostalgia that this return to steam evoked, Steam Dreams came up with the idea of recreating the experience in all its former glory, providing day trips to some of the UK's most beautiful cities, with excellent food, service and surroundings along the way - the ultimate day out for enthusiasts and families alike.
For those who have yet to enjoy at first hand a Steam Dreams experience, this programme will provide a taste of what is in store, offering a beautiful and powerful combination of steam trains in the English landscape throughout the seasons. The programme shows scenes taken from the lineside and footplate and features a variety of ex Southern, GW, LNER, LMS and BR Standard preserved locomotives filmed between 1998 and 2007.
