Join us for this unique & privileged journey along a railway that was thought to be lost to the history books forever.
2015 saw the opening of the new 'Borders Railway' from Edinburgh to Tweedbank, along the northern section of the old ‘Waverley’ Line, which once ran between the Scottish capital and Carlisle. After controversially being closed in 1969, this isolated region of Scotland would once again echo to the sound of a Steam Engine, for the first time in nearly 50 years.
With live sound recorded from the locomotive, we bring the action right to you.
This program also features commentary (including from the locomotive's crew), titles & locations.
