This film covers seven different lines in Saxon Germany during winter conditions.
The lines included are the Harz metre gauge Railway, plus six 75cm gauge railways broadly around Dresden. The Weisseritztalbahn, The Lossnitzgrundbahn, The Fichtelbergbahn, Dollnitzbahn, Pressnitztalbahn and the Schonheide Museum line.
Featured are the Saxon-Meyer IVK articulated compound locomotives as well as the VIIK 2-10-2 tanks.
The action includes many charter mixed trains and freights including the use of Rollwagons, where standard gauge trucks are mounted on 75cm flat cars. Line descriptions and maps help explain the history and use of these lines.
