This cab ride gives a driver's view of the famous West Coast Main Line over its southern stretch, from Euston in London to Liverpool Lime Street via the Trent Valley cut-off and Weaver Junction.
The journey took place on Thursday 30 May 1985, which was four days before Crewe station was completely, closed for a period of seven weeks for remodelling.
The programme therefore represents a record of the 'old' Crewe.
