CJ Linien
Along with the Alps, the Jura is the second mountain range through Switzerland. The landscape is not quite as mountainous as in the Alps. The mountains are flatter, they are much more hilly landscapes. The horse pastures, which are very clearly visible from the train, are typical of the Jura.
The narrow-gauge lines of the CJ lead us through the Freiberg mountains in the La Chaux-de-Fonds / Saignelégier region. The standard gauge CJ line runs through the Ajoie region from Porrentruy to Bonfol.
As a bonus film, we show the disused stretch from Bonfol towards Pfetterhouse (F). The line is still in operation for freight trains up to the bci Betriebs-AG.
Route sections:
• Tavannes - Le Noirmont (30'17 ")
• La Chaux-de-Fonds - Glovelier (59'51 ")
• Porrentruy - Bonfol (13'11 ")
• Bonfol - bci Betriebs-AG (16'09 ")
