Merseyrail's Class 507s and 508s have served the city and its suburbs for more than four decades and now into their final years, this programme shows the units at work systemwide.
Although first delivered in 2020, various factors delayed the introduction of the 777s, so much so that most of the 507 & 508 fleet survived much longer than expected.
An effort was made to record these units in detail, not just the day-to-day workings but some of the lesser-seen and very rare moves and these feature here: Stock moves at James Street; Southport peak 6-cars; engineering work with wrong line moves from Moorfields; platform 1 at Birkenhead North; platform 1 at Hooton; a rare move at Birkenhead Central; Hoylake golf specials; Aintree race specials; last of the 507s to Kirkby and various units being hauled for scrap plus the 777s enter service and Kirkby-Headbolt Lane opens.
Presented in a diary format. Filmed 2022/2023. All new footage.
