The Delivering The Goods series takes an extended look at all the British rail freight companies since 2000.
This volume features the one of the newest, Colas. They started operations in 2007 with a log train from the West Highlands of Scotland to Chirk. For this they hired in traction. By the end of that year they had acquired three Class 47s for use on RHTT trains in the South-West. Since then the company has gradually won more work and bought more locomotives. Today they run a wide variety of trains across Britain. This programme looks back at the company’s development over its first seven years.
