The second in the four-part series looking at commuter trains across the UK features AC
Electric Multiple Units.
From Edinburgh and Glasgow and the west coast of Scotland, through the north west of England,
Yorkshire, the Midlands and into the south east and East Anglia, there are currently 22 classes of AC
EMU in operation.
From the 1976-built Class 313s to the high-speed Class 395 ‘Javelins’ and the latest batch of Class
379s, this programme looks at every class and sub class of AC EMU operating today: 313, 314, 315,
317, 318, 319, 320, 321, 322, 323, 325, 332, 333, 334, 350, 357, 360, 365, 377, 379, 380 and 395.
Introduced with fleet details, allocations and formations, each different type of train is shown, many in
different liveries, plus depot line-ups and internal footage, all filmed 2011-2013.
