AV372 - The Wensleydale-Carlisle Class 37
Filmed on location from 1988 to 2004
Section 1: Wensleydale Line
Firstly we join 37714, 37884 top and tail with 47820 at Bedale on a Pathfinder Railtour from Kings Cross. The combination passes Leyburn in the fog. Redmire is reached and the 47 leads on return, passing Preston-under-Scar and Bedale.
Section 2: Castle Hills – Colton Junction
The Railtour awaits the road at Castle Hills. Freight is seen at Thirsk and Shipton-by-Benningbrough. At York 37s are seen hauling an HST, specials and sandite services. Copmanthorpe sees the Arriva top & tail and a hauled Eurostar at Colton Junction.
Section 3: York – Knaresborough - Leeds
The Arriva top & tail ECS picks up a guard at York. At Poppleton the 37s await a York bound unit to pass. The pair arrives at Knaresborough to form the passenger service to Leeds, passing Horsforth and Headingley on the way. More views at Leeds.
Section 4: Leeds - Shipley - Keighley
We travel back in time to 1990 and join 37104 with 47456 on the Carlisle service. At Kirkstall we see 37s passing the former signal box. A short stop at Shipley then on our way! Bingley features the Arriva pair then we arrive at Keighley in 1990.
Section 5: Keighley – Settle - Carlisle
The Arriva pair departs Keighley and is seen at Skipton, Settle, Hellwith Bridge, Garsdale and Kirkby Stephen. At Appleby we are greeted by a Jazz band. At Carlisle 1980/90s freight is seen before our pair arrives. Finally, the pair departs.

AV374 - The Cardiff Pwllheli Class 37
Filmed on location from 1986 to 1993.
Section 1: Cardiff Central - Newport
Firstly we watch various Class 37 movements at Cardiff Central. After a quick trip to Bridgend and Cardiff Queen Street to watch MGR services we join our service for Liverpool.
Section 2: Newport – Liverpool Lime Street
More 37 activities are seen at Newport before our Liverpool service departs. Onwards to Hereford and then Shrewsbury (we will return in Section 3). Next we cross the Runcorn Bridge before finally arriving at Liverpool Lime Street.
Section 3: Shrewsbury - Tywyn
We join 37427 and 37428 at Shrewsbury for our service to Pwllheli. Stopping at Newton, Machynlleth, Dovey Junction and Aberdovey before arriving at Tywyn.
Section 4: Tywyn - Porthmadog
At Tywyn we wait for units to pass off the single line. After a short stop at Fairbourne we cross the Barmouth Viaduct. We see Harlech Castle from the station stop. At Porthmadog a stop for the crossing before stopping in platform.
Section 5: Porthmadog - Pwllheli
We leave our pair to continue and then join solo 37427 for the rest of the journey. Stopping at Criccieth and then passing Penychain before arriving Pwllheli where this journey ends.
AV375 - The North Wales Class 37
Filmed on location from 1993 to 2000
Section 1: Chester – Llandudno Junction
At Chester a number of down services arrive and depart. We see 37s stopping at Shotton, Prestatyn, Rhyl and Colwyn Bay and passing Mostyn. Llandudno Junction sees a number of movements.
Section 2: Llandudno Junction - Holyhead
After departing the Junction we travel through Conwy with a view from the Castle. At Llanfairfechan a view from a 101 cab! On departing Bangor we cross the Menai Bridge and then see services at Rhosneigr before arriving at Holyhead.
Section 3: Holyhead – Llandudno Junction
Movements at Holyhead are seen before the return. This time we see services at Rhosneigr, Bodorgan and Llanfairpwll. At Bangor a terminator shunts for the next working and at Llanfairfechan an up service. We arrive back at the Junction.
Section 4: Llandudno– Llandudno Junction
At Llandudno 37142 and 066 stand on a special train. At Llandudno Junction we watch a service from Holyhead shunt to form anther service to Holyhead as well as seeing other station movements.
Section 5: Llandudno Junction - Chester
After departing the Junction for the last time we watch services at the following locations: Colwyn Bay, Abergele, Rhyl, Prestatyn and Shotton. At Chester a number of up services arrive and depart and a light loco is in the bay. While this is the end of this DVD, connecting services appear on AV376!
AV376 - The North West Class 37
Filmed on location in North West England from 1992 to 2006
Section 1: Manchester Victoria - Southport
Manchester Club-Trains are seen departing a 1992 Victoria station. Eventually we join the Southport service. Stops are made at Salford (now Central), Salford Crescent and Wigan Wallgate. On arrival at Southport we see our stock shunt to the sidings.
Section 2: Blackpool North - Crewe
Now moving a little up the coast, we join 37422 at Blackpool North. Our service passes Poulton-le-Fylde and next we see a Class 31 at Deansgate on a return working. After racing an electric at Longsight we turn off, passing Heald Green and to Wilmslow. After a pause we continue to Crewe.
Section 3: Birmingham International - Wolverhampton
At Birmingham International we join 37408 on the Holyhead service. A 37 is seen passing Stechford. New Street features a number of Class 37s on North Wales services. A selection of passenger and freight is seen at Tipton, Hamstead and Bescot.
Section 4: Wolverhampton - Crewe
Wolverhampton is departed and Stafford sees a further North Wales service. On arrival at Crewe we see a number of North Wales services arrive and depart. Please see AV375 for continuation!
Section 5: Warrington–Manchester Victoria
The Warrington Bank Quay part features a number of freight workings. We then travel north to see passenger workings at Arnside and Hess Bank. This DVD film finishes with a return to Manchester Victoria, but in 1995 with the enclosed roof! Sound!
