Please note: The final edit differs slightly from what was originally advertised. Replacing the chapters on Derby and 1Q98, there is extended coverage of the RHTTs and a new chapter on the 93s & 99s as they are being tested around the country.

2025 turned out to be an interesting year for Railfreight, with some of the longstanding flows running for the last time while the brand new 93s and 99s made progress, the colourful Class 69 project was completed and with retro livery repaints and new designs there was a lot to see! No.33 in the Big Freight series takes the viewer far and wide with the colourful new 69s, a Class 20 hauling coal wagons, 66s, 68s and 70s, new flows, old flows, odd flows, big locos and big wagons, this is it, this is Big Freight!

This edition includes:

RHTT 2025: Autumn of 2025 saw the reorganisation of the Rail Head Treatment Trains with GBRf and Colas now operating most of the loco hauled sets. In turn, this has seen 37s return to Scotland, 70s work RHTT for the first time, as well as 56s, 57s, 66s, 69s and 73s working new circuits. Various trains are featured here working off eight depots/yards: Inverness, Carstairs, Carlisle, York, Port Talbot, Peterborough, Swindon and Tonbridge.

Coal to Hope: Where does a Class 20 haul a coal train in the year 2025? With power station coal trains now finished, there are now just a handful of coal trains running in the UK and one of them serves Hope Cement Works. DB Class 66 hauled, arriving at Earles sidings, the train is split and the HTA hoppers are tripped down the branch by 20168 - nose leading! On this visit, 70001 arrives with cement tanks and these are also 20-hauled.

Fens Freight: As the resignalling programme sweeps its way across Anglia we visit Three Horse Shoes and Manea - two locations on the Peterborough - Ely section with signal boxes and traditional signalling. A variety of freight trains pass at speed.

Lincoln - Doncaster: There is very little freight routed on the ECML between Peterborough and Doncaster with most of it running via Spalding and Lincoln. With more freight than passenger trains, the line between Lincoln, Gainsborough and Doncaster is unusual and is featured here. With traditional signal boxes and a mixture of freight different flows, it's an interesting route.

93s & 99s: The summer and autumn of 2025 saw both 93s and 99s on test runs around the country. Included here are 93s on the WCML from June and November and the first 99 in Scotland plus footage of what was the longest trail working to date, 99001+99002 from Carlisle to Tonbridge.

Plus: Class 90s, new and old liveries, Sand Trains, WCML at Lichfield and Tamworth.

• All sections are introduced with full commentary and maps.
• Includes aerial footage.
• So much more than just train after train running past the camera!
• This is all brand new footage, filmed in 2024-25 GUARANTEED.
