Description

The second DVD in the Rail Rover UK series looks at the railways around Liverpool from the 1990s to the present day.

From the Class 31 hauled 'Club' trains and Class 47 hauled diversions to the Class 507 and 508 EMUs, Liverpool's rail scene has always been rich in variety and this DVD looks at two decades of operations.

The programme starts in 1995 at Lime Street itself and the Regional Railways Class 31s on trains to Preston and Blackpool and 37425 at Southport.

Following the demise of regular loco hauled trains attention was turned to the Sunday diversions which saw various RES 47/7s and latterly 57/3s hauling West Coast trains via Manchester.

There's footage from Edge Hill, St. Helens and Earlestown where Class 37s and 47s head for North Wales.

Merseyrail EMUs are shown in three different liveries plus the Class 501 'Sandite' units and the Class 73/0s plus there's a feature on the Ormskirk line today.

EMUs and DMUs meet at Ellesmere Port.

Footage of Class 67 hauled football specials coming in from Cardiff in May 2007.

Plus many different DMU Classes and liveries.
