The DRS Years - Part One - 1997 to 2006: Having sold the last of their locos in early 2024, this marked the end of 27-year association with the class. From humble beginnings in 1997 with a handful of ex-EPS 37/6s, right through to the 37/4s and Cumbria passenger work, the DRS 37 has been a huge part of the railway network. Part One here looks at the early years - 1997 to 2006 - with the first 20+ locos and the trains they worked including the overnight Malcolm trains, RHTT, Nuclear Traffic, Railtours, Passenger and the Royal Scotsman.
Preservation: Recently painted into Railfreight Metals, we visit the ELR for a day with 37109.
