GM-Free goes on the hunt for locomotives of 1950s & ‘60s vintage that can still be found operating on the main lines of Britain . . . and the variety is stunning! The DVD is split into bite-size chunks:

Real Freight (approx 14 mins) - including 37s on flasks, 47s on Colas steel trains, 20s on Tallington sleeper train, a 47 on logs, Class 86s.

Moving Stock (approx 12 mins) - 20s on London Underground stock, an 08 with a Class 172, DVT and HST power car being towed, 47 and 37s with Cargo-Vans, track plant being moved and a 73 at Peterborough.

Paying Punters (approx 17 mins) - 20 and 47s on East Anglia passenger trains, DRS 47s on the ‘boat train’ and Northern Belle, including a reliveried 47790, 47580 on charter, 55022 on its recent trip to Kyle, 37/6s storming through Scout Green, a West Coast 37 top & tailing with a Pannier tank (yes, really) and DRS 37/4s on saloon trips.

Loco Moves (approx 8 mins) - A superb variety of locos towing locos, including a green 31 towing a green 40, 37s & 20s moving from Eastleigh, 20s with 47s at Barrow Hill and a 31 taking 56s to Loughborough.

ECS (approx 6 mins) - A selection of ECS moves hauled by a 37 with a ‘Hall’, a 33 with a 37, DRS 37s & West Coast 47 combo on the Lickey.

The Alcan (approx 14 mins) - The programme closes with an in-depth feature on the most astonishing workings of the 21st Century - Deltic 55022 on the North Blyth to Lynemouth trains and the Fort William to Mossend.
