TPF-Linien
The TPF route network is partly normal and partly narrow gauge. On this DVD we show all lines of this railway company. The canton of Friborg is very rural and so the trains travel through beautiful landscapes.
There is a lot of Switzerland in this region. The town of Gruyère (Greyerz) is particularly well-known and is also where the famous Gruyere cheese comes from. A branch line of the TPF leads from Bulle to Broc-Fabrique. The world-famous Cailler chocolate is produced there.
The narrow-gauge lines of the TPF are located in the Bulle-Greyerz region. The routes have been modernized in recent years and the TPF has become a modern regional railway today. Nevertheless, the narrow-gauge character has been preserved. In Montbovon, for example, the trains run on the main road through the village.
The standard gauge lines of the TPF connect the important local town of Bulle with the canton capital of Fribourg. Through trains from Bulle to Freiburg have only been available for a few years, because the SBB route network has to be used between Romont and Freiburg. A TPF line runs from Freiburg to Murten and from there through the Seeland to Ins. Our journey ends in Ins, although the TPF trains continue to Neuchâtel using the BLS network.
