
Filmed on location in the South Western from 1986 to 1992.
Section 1: Waterloo to Salisbury (Direct)
Firstly we see the forward loco coupling to the train. After train departure the released loco moves off. Many locations and examples of the class are viewed en route with stops made at Woking, Basingstoke and Andover before finally arriving at Salisbury. A loco is detached before continuing.
Section 2: Salisbury to Exeter St. David's (Direct)
A failure stands in Salisbury bay platform. After departure we visit all stops to Yeovil Junction as well as many passing locations. Beyond Yeovil many stops and locations are witnessed before finally arriving at Exeter St David’s. Stock is shunted away.
Section 3: Exeter St. David's to Salisbury (via Westbury)
A Sunday engineers' train departs Exeter St David’s then stock for our service is run into the platform. After departure the route is retraced to Yeovil Junction, then via Pen Mill, Castle Cary and to Westbury where the loco is seen running around the train. A short journey is then made on to Salisbury.
Section 4: Salisbury to Exeter St. David's (via Portsmouth)
Soon after departing Salisbury at Tunnel Junction we head towards Southampton, then St. Denys, Fareham, Portsmouth & Southsea before arriving Portsmouth Harbour. Stock movement is seen before departing towards Guildford, Woking and Clapham Junction before our final destination of Waterloo.
