The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, the only complete branch line in the UK is well re-known for holding their annual Winter Steam Gala. The event is an important event on many enthusiasts calendars for holding a varied range of trains running along the picturesque five mile branch line.
The annual 2014 Winter Steam Gala featured the launch of resident S160 No.5820 'Big Jim' running in BR Black, the only event the engine featured in this fictional livery. Running over the cold, damp mornings of March 2014 a collection of engines tackled the steep gradients from Keighley to Oxenhope. Featuring at the event was visiting engine LNER K4 No.61994 'The Great Marquess' the only one left of its class saved for preservation.
