Announcing a brand new series of modern image railway DVDs which feature a complete day of operation at a busy railway location.
Sunrise Sunset UK Volume 1 - A day at Peak Forest and Great Rocks.
The first programme in the Sunrise Sunset series takes you to the freight-only location of Peak Forest. Situated some 26 miles from Manchester and 22 miles from Sheffield this picturesque area of the Peak District in Derbyshire is best known for its limestone quarries and the transportation of stone and cement by rail.
Filmed on a fine sunny day in May 2011, as the title suggests, a complete day of operation is filmed from sunrise to sunset. Class 60, 66 and 67 locos are featured arriving and departing with various trains and wagon types and the various shunt moves, train loading, train preparation and loco fuelling is all wrapped up with semaphore signals and signal boxes.
The appearance of the silver Class 60, 60099 is the undoubtedly the highlight of the show and as well as Peak Forest itself, there is action from Great Rocks Junction – just a half mile down the line – with stone trains running to and from Tunstead.
Filmed in 16:9 widescreen with a running time of 90 minutes and available in stunning high definition on blu-ray , this title shows what happens during a typical day at Peak Forest and is a must for anybody following the current UK freight scene.
