On the northern Baltic coast of Germany lie two narrow gauge lines of special merit. The Mollibahn at Bad Doberan runs along the main street through the centre of the town, before running quickly through farm land to the coast at Heillegendam and Kuhlungsborn. The 900mm gauge is unique in Germany. The Mollibahn is the fastest of the German narrow gauge lines.
The Rasender Roland is a 750mm gauge line on the island of Rugen connecting the quiet rural villages between Puttbus, Binzand Gohren. The wide range of motive power includes 0-8-0, 2-8-0 and 2-10-2 tanks. There is an intensive service during the tourist season.
