Northbound: Kidderminster · Bewdley · Arley · Highley · Hampton Loade · Bridgnorth
The Severn Valley Railway, a 16-mile heritage railway which runs through the picturesque countryside of Shropshire and Worcestershire. Running from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth, via Bewdley, Arley, Highley and Hampton Loade. This product allows you to hop onboard the footplate and travel northbound between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, featuring now withdrawn locomotive LMS 4MT ‘Flying Pig’ No.43106.
LMS Ivatt Class 4 No.43106 is the only surviving example of an Ivatt Class 4 2-6-0 Mogul, the unusual design with raised running plates led to members of the class being referred to by nicknames such as ‘The Flying Pig’. No.43106 was one of the SVR’s early locomotives, arriving ‘light engine’ direct from Lostock Hall on 2 August 1968. The locomotive most recently emerged from overhaul in 2009 and ran continuously until withdrawal in January 2024.
Join the crew of LMS 4MT No.43106 and travel between Kiddermister and Bridgnorth, sit back and watch as they tackle the gradients on a sunny autumn’s day. Using new technology and filmed in 4K, you’re able to witness No.43106 working hard through Shropshire and Worcestershire from a whole new perspective.
Whilst watching this product, you’re able to follow No.43106 from a series of different angles, including onboard the footplate, smokebox handrails, the front lamp bracket and from the motion gear.
Footage is also included from the lineside, showcasing No.43106 at several different viewpoints along the Severn Valley Railway, filmed over the last 10 years.
There are three viewing options to this product, these include:
