From The Air' captures steam action, but from a whole new height. From shots no longer accessible due to tree growth, to shots filmed over water, this two-disc DVD features footage from throughout 2022, filmed solely using drone technology.

During early 2022, we invested in drone technology. Throughout the year, alongside capturing footage for our hugely popular 'Steaming Around Britain 2022' DVD, we've been busy capturing the sights and sounds using drones.

This DVD features a mixture of mainline, heritage railways and narrow gauge action. Each of the clips included on the product has had the sound carefully pieced together, to ensure you're able to hear the sound of the locomotive working hard and not a constant music overlay. Covering shots from the Scottish Highlands to Cornwall and Devon; Norfolk to Snowdonia, what more would you need to recall the best bits of 2022?

Drone technology has allowed us to visit locations which are no longer accessible because of tree growth, viaducts which are too difficult to access by foot and opened up new shots filmed over water. Footage captured includes a mixture of camera angles and shots, including tracking shots, filmed throughout the year at a variety of locations.

Mainline Action:
Steam charters are included from across the UK, featuring a wide variety of locomotives, working hard at locations such as the Settle & Carlisle Railway, West Coast Mainline, West Highland Extension, the Lickey Incline, Miles Platting, the Hope Valley, the Cumbrian Coast, Welsh Marches, East Coast Mainline and many others.

A collection of mainline steam locomotives are featured, including A4 No.4498 'Sir Nigel Gresley', BR No.70000 'Britannia', LMS No.46100 'Royal Scot', LMS No.6233 'Duchess Of Sutherland', LMS No.45690 'Leander', LMS No.45596 'Bahamas', LMS No.46115 'Scots Guardsman', SR No.34046 'Braunton', SR No.34067 'Tangmere', GWR No.7029 'Clun Castle' and many others too.

Heritage Railways:
Several railways from across England and Wales are featured, including both standard and narrow gauge lines. Several photo charters are featured from throughout the year.

Note: this product features only drone videography. Our Steaming Around Britain 2022 will feature our non-aerial videography from throughout 2022.
