In this programme we visit:
CZECHIA - the busy Cross-Country route between Usti-nad-Labem and Kolin is featured in our opening section. Loco-hauled passenger, electric and diesel-powered freight as well as diesel units all feature. Classes 122, 123, 130, 163, 363, 740, 753 and 854 are seen in action.
ROMANIA - the camera of Richard Scott takes us to the north-east of the country with loco-hauled action featuring class 060 Sulzer-powered diesels as well as classes 080, 064 and 041. Also witnessed are ex-SNCF DMUs from x4300 and x4500 classes. Locations include Bacău, Laşi, Nicolina and near to Bucharest.
FRANCE - the first in a two-part feature looking at passenger and freight action on the east bank of the River Rhône between Livron and north of Orange. Classes B81500, z23500, z24500, TGV, x73500, BB7200, BB26000, BB27000, BB69300, BB75000 and class 186 are all seen.
GERMANY - action from the Saltzgitter Steelworks and from the mainline south-west of Braunschweig. Industrial and mainline locos are seen in action.
ITALY - a fascinating look inside the large HUPAC Intermodal terminal at Gallarate during the nocturnal hours. Classes 193, 186, 475 and 484 appear during this look behind the scenes video.
SWITZERLAND - mainline action near Montreux, close to Lake Geneva.
