Description

In this programme we travel to:

AUSTRIA - not often covered on film is the mainline between Wörgl and Saalfelden through the ski resort of Kitzbühl. We filmed the line over three years to bring you an overview of current-day operations through some wonderful mountain scenery.

GERMANY - our Hot-Spot feature takes us to the Rhein and the junction at Bischofhofen as well as Mainz-Kastel not far from Wiesbaden. Freight and passenger trains are seen in abundance with classes 427, 428 and 430 dominating passenger workings, with class 139, 143, 147, 151, 152, 185, 186, 187,189, and 294 all making an appearance.

BELGIUM - freight action from Antwerpen’s south dock including the new Antigoon tunnel line. Class 77 and 66 dominate.

CZECH REPUBLIC - an evening on a mainline south-west of Prague. We call in to Karlstejn station where classes 471, 362, 122 and  363 are seen on services to Beroun and Plze?.

SWITZERLAND - a look at traffic through Immensee on the Gotthard mainline. Two year’s worth of filming brings you a whole host of motive power types, with mountain backdrops.

FRANCE - the warning signs have gone up with regards the replacement of loco-hauled stock; we take a look at the Paris - Caen - Cherbourg line with BB26000 and BB15000 in full flighT.
