Description

In this programme we visit:

AUSTRIA - a look at the main freight route south of Vienna towards Wiener-Neustadt at the junction at Wampersdorf where a secondary passenger line joins. Mixed freight and local passenger dominate.

ITALY/FRANCE - passenger train action at Ventimiglia and south of Cannes. BB22200, TGV and z23500 dominate during our Côte d'Azur stopover.

SLOVENIA - a return to Rakek on the main line south-west of Ljubljana on the route to Italy and Koper, now fully re-built after the devastating ice-storm of February 2014. Classes 312, 363, 541 and 664 are all seen on this major European freight route.

POLAND - the junction town of Krzy? lies in the north-west of the country on a busy coal export route. Loco-hauled passenger trains are also commonplace as well as modern electric and diesel multiple units. This section looks at the main photographic locations either side of the town as well as a look at stored diesels to be found on the depot.

GERMANY - the first of a two-part feature looking at the busy freight line linking Duisburg with Düsseldorf through the town of Lintorf. This hot-spot feature shows the types of train that can be seen by the railway observer and includes classes: 145, 151, 152, 155, 185, 189, 203, 211, 212, 221, 66, 77, 261, 265, 1275, 1277, 294, 628 & BB37000.
