Westbahn Mainline at Rekawinkel, west of Vienna: This busy location was filmed before the new section Westbahn opened and features the old order in the shape of 1044, 1142, 1016, 1116 and classes 182 and 185.

Spielfeld: The border station at Spielfeld-Strasse is the boundary between the Austrian & Slovenia railway networks. The station acts as a traction change-over point & sees a wide variety of trains together with some unusual railway operating practices involving loose locomotive shunting. Slovenian electric locomotives from classes 342 & 363 are witnessed as well as Austrian traction in the shape of 2016, 1042, 1142 & 1116 ‘Taurus’ electrics.

Schwaz - the River Inn valley east of Innsbruck accommodates one of the busiest stretches or railway in the country: we sample modern-day motive power in our July 2010 visit. Classes 1044, 1016, 1116, 1216, ICE, 139, 185, 189 & 4024 all appear on a mixture of freight and passenger duties. Superb mountain scenery provides the backdrop in this photographic paradise.

Tauernbahn - south of the summit with Classes 1016, 1044, 1116, 1216, Slovenian 541, DB class 101 & OBB 4024 on freight & passenger turns, filmed amongst the magnificent scenery.

Melk - we travel to the Westbahn, close to the monastery town of Melk as we look at traffic on a Saturday evening close to sunset. Some superb ‘glint’ scenes are witnessed as the low angle of the sun reflects off the train sides. Classes 1016, 1116, 1216, 185, 189, 1144 & 4020 are seen on freight & passenger duties.

Brenner Pass - the scenic delights of the Brenner Pass route are witnessed in this section as we focus our attention on rails which skirt the picturesque village of St. Jodok. Situated high above the village we look down on to the tracks as we see some delightful views of freight and passenger trains making their way up and down this steeply-graded main line. Examples of 1016, 1216, 1144, 1044, Ex DB 139, 189 and 4024 are seen going about their work.
