On 29th July 2022, Colas Class 56, 56302 undertook a series of route learning journeys around South Yorkshire and into Lincolnshire.

Starting and finishing at Doncaster, the train was routed very much the long-way and the wrong-way around, taking in freight-only lines, a few obscure curves and some lesser known and rarely used passenger lines.

This is the three-hour edited version of the day and it includes the freight-only Bentley Jn to Hexthorpe Jn (Doncaster avoider) line and the Mexborough Jn to Aldwarke Jn (Kilnhurst) line, followed by a run alongside Supertram from Rotherham towards Sheffield. Next we head via Worksop to Gainsborough Central with its signal boxes and semaphore signals. Back at Sheffield we head out the other way, to Barnsley and Mirfield and the short line from Greetland Jn to Halifax - another rarely-seen and loco-free section of railway.

Includes maps, on-screen captions and minimal narration. A thrash cam in the back cab records the loco at work and ambient sounds.
