This DVD features various bus events and running days that took place in late 2021 and early 2022 all of which had a distinct London flavour. These events are very important, providing opportunities for enthusiasts and the general public to see and ride on some of the many preserved buses in the UK. Many different buses, both old and new can be seen at these events.
London Bus Route 93 Running Day, 9th October 2021:
Route 93 was running from Dorking to Putney Heath featuring London buses from the 1940s to the present day. The event was notable for the appearance of prototype RT1 and prototype Routemaster RML3. The event was organised by the London Bus Museum, Brooklands, Weybridge, Surry.
Stagecoach London, Plumstead Garage Open Day, 30th October 2021:
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the opening of the garage by London Transport in 1981. Both heritage and modern buses took part and buses ran on several routes from the garage including a re-enactment of trolleybus routes 696 and 698 which ran from Woolwich to Dartford.
London Buses Running Day, Muswell Hill, 7th November 2021:
Heritage and modern buses ran on routes 43, 134A, 212,244 and 251A, running to places such as Highgate, Holloway, Finsbury Park and Friern Barnet. London Transport TD89, a 1948 Leyland Tiger PS1 with Mann Egerton bodywork was one of the oldest buses taking part.
Ensignbus Running Day, 4th December 2021:
Many buses from the Ensignbus heritage fleet took part in the annual running day based at Lakeside bus station, Thurrock. Routes were operated to Gravesend, Tilbury, Upminster and Brentwood.
Dorking Classic Bus Running Day, 27th March 2022:
Nine former London Transport country area routes were operated with ex London Transport country area buses including RTs, Rfs GSs and T792, a 1948 AEC Regal. The event was organised by The Amersham & District Motorbus Society.
London Bus Route 101 Running Day, 26th March 2022:
Route 101 was running from Wanstead to North Woolwich featuring London buses from the 1940s to the 1980s, the oldest of which was the utility Guy Arab G351. The event was organised by the London Bus Museum, Brooklands, Weybridge, Surrey.
